Have you been searching for the perfect garment that will keep you stylish and comfortable during the summer heat? Then get your sewing machine ready, because here comes Lisa! This summer dress is our newest pattern release and we couldn’t be more excited to introduce her to you. Are you ready?
The Lisa dress is a gorgeous garment, intended for woven fabrics. Think of light to medium weight fabrics, such as cotton poplin, cotton lawn, chambray, shirting, seersucker, broderie anglaise, linen. It has a soft V-neckline and an A-line skirt with optional pockets and an optional tie belt. Version 1 is a sleeveless dress, while Version 2 features lovely scalloped-shaped cap sleeves that add a touch of romance to the design. Version 3 has detachable ties on the shoulder seams.
This beautiful pattern was inspired by Lisa Kisch, known for her Youtube channel “And sew on”. The Canadian´s relaxed, feminine style is perfectly reflected in this summer dress, don’t you think?
As for the skill level it requires, Lisa was designed with adventurous beginners in mind. Through sewing this pattern, we will teach you some of the basic dressmaking techniques, like stitching darts, sewing an invisible zip, adding an all-in-one armhole and neckline facing and more. And if you still need a hand, you can check our video sewalong, that guides you step by step through the sewing process.
Regarding the size range, all our patterns come in sizes 4-28 and they include both a print-at-home version and an A0 copyshop file.
Lisa has endless hacking potential. You can lengthen the skirt and turn it into a maxi dress, like we did. Or you can double the width of the tie belt and create a gorgeous sash that ties into a big bow in the back of your waist. She will be your go-to dress all summer long!
