Before releasing the Samantha dress to the wild, we went through a thorough pattern testing process to make sure that 1. the pattern fitted the way it was supposed to and 2. the instructions were as clear as possible. We were delighted to have an amazing team of seamstresses who tested the Samantha dress for us and provided valuable feedback. Every time one of their photos came to our e-mail, we did a little happy dance and we thought you’d be interested to see how they interpreted the pattern and what they made. Keep in mind though that the pattern was in developing stage so you might see some fitting issues in the photos, which were of course addressed and corrected before the launch.
So, let’s get started!
Our muse, Samantha of @sewbytheseaside made Version 1 with the shorter skirt and the bows at the sleeves and we swooned over how beautiful she looks in her dress!
On the other side of the world, our friend Nateida, also known as @naturaldane, made a combination of the two versions of the Samantha dress and we adored her fabric choice. She posted a detailed video review about the pattern on her channel.
Our beautiful friend, Nikki from the Stitch Sisters (@sodburysewing) made a gorgeous version of our dress by combining the longer skirt and the simple bodice, without the collar nor the sleeve ties.
The lovely Vivian of @_stitchesandseams_ made a Samantha with the short sleeves and the long skirt. Doesn’t she look fabulous in it? We loved the way she styled the dress as well.
Mae of @itsewcolorful made another stunning version of the Samantha, so chic and stylish!
Sue of @suziela made a black and classic dress with the collar and he shorter skirt, which we adore!
Last but not least, Georgia of @acornkiss made a sweet floral Samantha with the bow ties at the sleeves. We LOVE her dress!
And these were our testers’ versions. So many Samantha dresses have been popping up on social media so if you want to see them or if you made one yourself, make sure you use the hashtag #smylysamantha. That way we can all admire your versions!
Until the next time, happy sewing!
